Abstract

PROCESSO PARA PRODUÇçO DE HIDROGÊNIO GASOSO A PARTIR DA FRAGMENTAÇçO MOLECULAR DA ÁGUA. FOR PRODUCTION OF GAS HYDROGEN FROM WATER MOLECULAR FRAGMENT. The invention described herein proposes an efficient process of producing industrial-scale molecular hydrogen gas (H2) from the use of an iron oxide, preferably δ-FeOOH, as a solid heterogeneous photocatalyst. The innovative aspect of the technology is the production of gaseous molecular hydrogen from a chemical process in which the photocatalytic reaction is activated by visible light radiation. The final yield is comparable to those using other semiconductors under ultraviolet light, according to processes described in the technical-scientific literature. The hydrogen obtained by the proposed process can be used for any technological, industrial, agricultural or environmental control / monitoring application, such as a precursor substance to produce energy (i) by direct burning in (ii) fuel cells / cells. or (iii) via liquid fuel production reactions (as by the Fisher-Tropsch reaction) or (iv) in any application where hydrogen (H2) is employed, as in hydrogenation processes or involving chemical reduction.
