Abstract

TRATAMENTO DE DESPEJOS áCIDOS USANDO ESCóRIAS SIDERURGICAS. Patente de invenção de um novo processo de Tratamento de Despejos ácidos usando escórias siderúrgicas. Estas são adicionadas à solução ácida descartada (despejo ácido) para se obter um produto que pode ser descartado sem danos ao meio ambiente ou para utilização como corretivo de solo. Atualmente o Tratamento destes Despejos necessita ser realizada em uma Estação de Tratamento de Efluente (ETE) complexa, tendo como processos: neutralização (utilizando como alcalinizantes a Cal hidratada ou a Cal virgem ou a Soda Cáustica); decantação (etapa de concentração dos sólidos); e a prensagem (utilizando filtros-prensa ou filtros rotativos para separação entre o sólido concentrado e o líquido restante). O que se traz de inovação neste processo de Tratamento de Despejos, é a utilização da Escória como alcalinizante, fazendo uso de sua característica desidratante, tendo assim, a eliminação das etapas de decantação e prensagem. A Escória fina e o despejo ácido são misturados em um misturador de palhetas ou em um piso plano, onde a Escória é espalhada pelo Despejo ácido. Em seguida, a água do despejo é absorvida pela escória e os ácidos são neutralizados pelo Cálcio contido ficando, o produto final, neutralizado e sem a fase líquida. O ensaio para determinação da proporção dos reagentes que serão misturados é feito em escala piloto (em laboratório). Após adição da solução ácida na escória, a mistura é levada para um leito de secagem, chegando a um produto final seco e estável.TREATMENT OF ACID WASTE USING SIDERURGIC SLAG. Currently the treatment of these discharges needs to be performed in a complex Effluent Treatment Plant (WWTP), having as processes: neutralization (using as hydralizing lime or virgin lime or caustic soda); decantation (solids concentration step); and pressing (using press filters or rotary filters to separate the concentrated solid from the remaining liquid). What brings innovation in this process of Dump Treatment, is the use of slag as alkalizing, making use of its dehydrating feature, thus eliminating the settling and pressing steps. Fine Slag and Acid Dump are mixed in a reed mixer or on a flat floor where Slag is spread by Acid Dump. Then the waste water is absorbed by the slag and the acids are neutralized by the calcium contained, leaving the final product neutralized and without the liquid phase. The assay to determine the proportion of reagents to be mixed is done on a pilot scale (in the laboratory). After addition of the acidic solution to the slag, the mixture is brought to a drying bed, reaching a dry and stable final product.
