Abstract
REATOR ANAERóBIO PARA A REMOçãO DE áCIDOS GRAXOS DE CADEIA LONGA DE áGUAS RESIDUAIS CONTENDO GORDURAS. The present invention is an apparatus specifically designed for the high anaerobic treatment of wastewater with relatively high concentrations of lipid compounds, referred to as "Inverted Anaerobic Sludge Blanket" (IASB). Unlike conventional anaerobic reactors, this reactor eliminates the need for well-settling biological sludge and explores the problem of sludge fluctuation due to adsorption of Long Chain Fatty Acids (LCFA) or biogas in sludge and / or biogas encapsulation in the mud. In addition, it provides an increase in sludge-specific surface area for better degradation of LCFA. The reactor is supplied at the top of the reactor, with phase separation at the base of the reactor. Reactor contents are properly mixed through the new combined action of a gas lift effect and a liquid recycle inside the reactor. The reactor can operate in continuous or sequential mode. Although specifically designed for lipid degradation, its application is not limited to this type of effluent.
