Abstract
CODIFICAçAO PARAMéTRICA CONJUNTA DE FONTES DE áUDIO. O seguinte cenário de codificação é abordado: diversos sinais de fonte de áudio precisam ser transmitidos ou armazenados para fins de mixagem de síntese de campo de onda, sinais surround de multicanais ou sinais estéreos após a decodificação dos sinais de fonte. A técnica proposta oferece significativo ganho de codificação ao se realizar a codificação conjunta dos sinais de fonte em comparação à codificação separada destes, mesmo quando nenhuma redundância estiver presente entre os sinais de fonte. Isto é possível considerando as propriedades estatísticas dos sinais de fonte, as propriedades das técnicas de mixagem e a audição espacial. A soma dos sinais de fonte é transmitida com as propriedades estatísticas dos sinais de fonte que predominantemente determinam os cues espaciais perceptivelmente importantes dos canais de áudio finais mixados. Os sinais de fonte são recuperados no receptor, de modo que suas propriedades estatísticas se aproximem das propriedades correspondentes dos sinais de fonte originais. Avaliações subjetivas indicam que a alta qualidade de áudio é obtida utilizando-se o esquema proposto.
