Abstract
"GARANTIA DE QUALIDADE DE SERVIçO PARA A TELEFONIA IP". Um método que procura fornecer uma qualidade de serviço satisfatória para um fluxo de pacotes através de uma rede. A versão ilustrativa da presente invenção busca fornecer uma qualidade de serviço satisfatória para um fluxo de pacotes ao periodicamente ou esporadicamente avaliar uma ou mais vias alternativas através da rede e ao enviar os pacotes através de uma via com uma qualidade de serviço aceitável. Normalmente, nem o nó fonte nem qualquer outro nó em uma via do pacote controla sua rota após ela haver deixado o nó. Em contraste, a versão ilustrativa da presente invenção tem a capacidade de afetar a via do pacote através da rede ao enviar o pacote para um nó intermediário ou de 'ricochete' na rede, que encaminha o pacote para o nó de destino. Com efeito, o nó fonte pode, se ele considerar apropriado, ricochetear o pacote do nó intermediário em vez de permitir que o pacote tome sua via direta normal através da rede.
