Abstract

SISTEMA PARA A PROVISãO DE ENTRETENIMENTO EM VÈO COM REDUNDáNCIA DE DADOS. Um sistema para a provisão de entretenimento em vóo com redundância de dados é descrito. Em uma modalidade da invenção, o sistema inclui um primeiro servidor e um segundo servidor dispostos em uma aeronave, cada um tendo armazenado nele um conteúdo digital. O sistema também inclui um comutador de rede que é ligado de forma comunicativa a ambos os primeiro e segundo servidores, e unidades de exibição de vídeo, cada uma estando localizada próxima de um assento de passageiro na aeronave, ligadas de forma comunicativa ao comutador de rede, e tendo uma interface de usuário que permite que um passageiro requisite um conteúdo digital. Ambos os primeiro e segundo servidores são configurados para transmitirem seu respectivo conteúdo digital armazenado para as unidades de exibição de vídeo através do comutador de rede. Cada uma da pluralidade de unidades de exibição de vídeo decodifica e exibe o conteúdo digital ao recebê-lo.
