Abstract
"MéTODO PARA AUMENTAR A ACOMODAçãO OCULAR, E, SISTEMA PARA USO EM AUMENTAR A CAPACIDADE DE ACOMODAçãO DE UM INDIVìDUO". Um método e aparelho relacionados a aumentar a acomodação corneana para lidar com o efeito de presbiopia. As medições topológicas corneanas/esclerais em estados de acomodação e não-acomodativo são indicativas do poder de acomodação corneana nominal de um indivíduo com presbiopia. Um poder acomodativo desejado destinado a prover melhoras no efeito de presbiopia pode ser determinado, sugerindo uma intervenção biomecânica seletiva na estrutura corneana fora da zona óptica para criar regiões de flexão. Estas regiões de flexão permitiriam maior acomodação corneana com a apresentação de um estímulo acomodante. A intervenção poderia estar na forma de, por exemplo, ablação da superfície corneana, ablação intraestromática, queratoplasia condutiva (CK), queratoplasia térmica a laser (LTK), e implantes corneanos e/ou esclerais. é apresentado um aparelho aperfeiçoado de medição topológica que possui um melhor campo de visão e outros atributos.
