Sistemas e métodos para geração de uma identificação de hardware compacto (CHWID) para um dado sistema de computador são descritos. A identificação do hardware compacto (CHWID) pode ser usada para controlar o uso de software no dado sistema de computador dependendo do grau das mudanças do hardware no sistema de computador.
