The injection fitting includes a cable adapter that can be connected with the outer surface of the electric cable section (120) at a remote position from the outer end of the electric cable section to expose a part of the outer surface of the electric cable section adjacent to its outer end. The injection fitting also includes a sleeve (192) having a first end, a second end and a fluid injection port. The first end of the sleeve (192) is adapted to fit over the exposed part of the exposed surface of the section of the electrical cable adjacent to the outer end thereof. The second end is adapted to fit over a conductive contact connected with the central part of the conduit of the electric cable section.
