Abstract

''RESINA NATURAL, COMPOSIçãO DE ADESIVO, PRODUTO DE MADEIRA, PROCESSO DE PREPARAçãO DE UMA RESINA NATURAL, ADESIVO, E, MISTURA DE RESINA NATURAL''. Esta invenção refere-se a um processo de preparação de uma resina natural pela liquefação de madeira, casca de árvore, resíduos florestais, resíduos da indústria da madeira, ou outra biomassa utilizando pirólise rápida com o propósito de produzir material carbonizado e vapores produto. Após remoção do material carbonizado dos vapores produto, um primeiro grupo de compostos é removido dos vapores produto por rápido esfriamento com o objetivo de obter um vapor produto selecionado restante do qual é obtida uma resina natural. A resina natural compreende um conteúdo fenólico total de cerca de 30% a cerca de 80% (p/p), e é adicionalmente caracterizada pelo fato de possuir um odor de fumaça prazeroso. Tem sido verificado de modo surpreendente que a resina natural é adequada para uso em formulações de adesivo sem requerimento de quaisquer outros procedimentos de extração ou de fracionamento. Adesivos compreendendo até 60% de resina natural têm sido preparados e testados na produção de placas e verificados em exibir propriedades semelhantes associadas com as resinas comercialmente disponíveis. A resina natural pode substituir fenol, ou ambos fenol e formaldeído em resinas contendo fenol. De maneira semelhante, a resina natural pode substituir uma parte substancial dos componentes em resinas contendo uréia.
