Abstract
"LUZ DE SEGURANçA SENSìVEL AO MOVIMENTO ADAPTADA PARA FIXAçãO A UMA RODA DE UMA BICICLETA OU CADEIRA DE RODAS, E, PROCESSO DE EQUIPAR UMA RODA DE UMA BICICLETA OU CADEIRA DE RODAS COM UMA LUZ DE SEGURANçA SENSìVEL AO MOVIMENTO". TO THE MOVEMENT ADAPTED FOR FIXING TO A WHEEL OF A BICYCLE OR WHEELCHAIR, AND, PROCESS OF EQUIPPING A WHEEL OF A BICYCLE OR WHEELCHAIR WITH A SAFETY LIGHT SENSITIVE TO MOVEMENT". a motion-sensitive safety light adapted for attachment to a bicycle wheel or wheelchair is provided. The motion-sensitive safety light has (a) a motion-sensitive switch that has (i) a non-magnetic housing having a space therein to form a hollow housing having an inner wall and an outer wall; (ii) a magnetic body contained within the housing having a size such that the magnetic body is mobile across the length of the housing and is electroconductive at least on its outer surface; (iii) at least one permanent magnet near the part of the outer wall of the enclosure so that a substantially uniform magnetic field exists near the inner wall of the enclosure in the area of the enclosure where the magnetic body is able to reside when the light is at rest; and (v) a first pair of conductors, at least one of which has an extreme part inside the housing and spaced from the magnetic body when the light is at rest; with the conditions (1) when an extreme part of only one conductor is inside said enclosure, the other conductor is in contact with the outer wall of the enclosure and the enclosure is electroconductive, and (2) when the light is subject to movement, the magnetic body is capable of moving from the area of said housing close to said magnet in contact with the conductor and the inner wall of the housing or pair of conductors to complete a circuit; (b) a battery having a positive and a negative terminal, one of the first conductors being connected to the positive terminal and the other first conductor being connected to the negative terminal; (c) a light source connected to the battery via a second pair of conductors, one conductor being attached to the battery terminal and the other conductor being attached to the other battery terminal and each of the second pair of conductors being attached to the source of light; (d) an extreme protective light-emitting layer covering the light source; (e) a protective cover extending from the extreme light-emitting layer, with the light source, battery and the motion-sensitive switch contained within the extreme light-emitting layer and the protective cover; and (f) means for attaching the motion-sensitive safety light to a wheel of a bicycle or wheelchair. A process for equipping a bicycle or wheelchair with a motion-sensitive safety light is also provided.
