Abstract
<B>FIBRAS óPTICAS INDUTADAS COM TERRAS RARAS COM DUPLO REVESTIMENTO<D> Uma fibra óptica (10) feita com um núcleo central (12), uma primeira camada de revestimento (16) e uma segunda camada de revestimento (18) com diversas protuberâncias ou irregularidades formadas na superfície limitadora externa de outro modo geralmente circular da primeira camada de revestimento. As irregularidades na primeira camada de revestimento interrompem a propagação de raios oblíquos e encorajam acoplamento dentro do núcleo. As irregularidades são formadas pela perfuração de orifícios (44 - 58) na fibra pré-formada, os quais são paralelos ao seu eixo geométrico longitudinal, e pela inserção de hastes naqueles. é propiciada uma camada intermediária de revestimento (14) para suprimir modos de ordem mais elevada do núcleo. As fibras ópticas são usadas em lasers e amplificadores com fibras de sonda de revestimento.
