Trata-se de um reator de base móvel horizontal para tratamento térmico de material em partículas que tem um alojamento com uma entrada para admissão do material em partículas a ser tratado termicamente e uma saída para descarga do mesmo, pelo menos uma bandeja posicionada horizontalmente dentro do alojamento entre a entrada e a saída, e tendo uma superfície de suporte para apoiar a base de material em partículas, um sistema de aquecimento para aquecer a base na superfície de suporte, e um sistema transportador para mover o material à medida em que ele é aquecido numa direção predeterminada na superfície de suporte. O sistema transportador inclui uma pluralidade de rastelos horizontalmente afastados entre si e estendidos pela superfície de suporte transversalmente à direção predeterminada e tendo uma pluralidade de dedos afastados entre si em contato deslizante com a superfície de suporte. The rakes are moved to move the material with the fingers in the predetermined direction, the rake fingers being misaligned in relation to the fingers of any of the other rakes, as well as spread apart, so that the fingers substantially scrape the entire surface of tray support and constantly move the particulate material while moving it, thus always exposing new surfaces of the material to heat and increasing the heat transfer at the base. The horizontal mobile base reactor of the invention can be used not only to pyrolyze particulate material, but also to produce various reactions that require heat.
