Abstract
APARELHO E MÉTODO PARA DESIDRATAR MATERIAL ORGÂNICO. A presente invenção se refere a um aparelho e um método para prover um mecanismo mais simples e mais robusto para transportar materiais a serem secos através de uma câmara de micro-ondas em vácuo em contêineres rotatórios. O aparelho (20) tem uma câmara de vácuo (22), uma extremidade de entrada (26) para introduzir um contêiner (24) na câmara, e uma extremidade de descarga (28) para remover o contêiner. O contêiner tem dentes de engrenagem (60) que se estendem ao longo de sua superfície circunferencial externa. O aparelho tem um único rolo (42) tendo dentes de engrenagem (46) que se estendem ao longo de sua superfície circunferencial externa. Os dentes de engrenagem do rolo enredam com os dentes de engrenagem do contêiner de maneira tal que a rotação do rolo ao redor do seu eixo geométrico longitudinal rote o contêiner. O aparelho também inclui meio para reter o contêiner no rolo, meio para mover o contêiner através da câmara, um gerador de micro-ondas 76 arranjado para transmissão de radiação de micro-ondas do gerador para o interior da câmara, e meio para reduzir a pressão no interior da câmara.
