um método para abandono de uma plataforma de produção inclui mover uma plataforma móvel de serviço fora da costa (mosp) para uma posição próxima à plataforma de produção. um casco da mosp é içado até uma elevação selecionada acima de um topo da plataforma de produção. uma estrutura em cantiléver tendo sobre a mesma uma unidade de perfuração e um guindaste é estendida a partir de uma posição retraída sobre o casco até que a unidade de perfuração é posicionada sobre pelo menos um poço na plataforma de produção. o poço é tamponado. a estrutura em cantiléver é então movida de modo que o guindaste seja posicionado para levantar componentes da plataforma de produção durante a desmontagem da plataforma de produção.
