Abstract
um método de proteger uma bomba de hidrocarbonetos (6) das vazões excessivas em um sistema para bombear um fluido de hidrocarbonetos, sistema este que compreende a referida bomba e um motor elétrico (10) para acionar a bomba. o método compreende as etapas de: para cada um de uma pluralidade de valores da fração de volume de gás do fluido de hidrocarbonetos, estabelecer um limite de torque máximo para a bomba mapeando o torque máximo permissível da bomba como uma função da pressão diferencial através da bomba, criando assim uma pluralidade de curvas de torque máximo (4), cada uma representando o limite de torque máximo para um único valor da fração de volume de gás; a partir da pluralidade de curvas de torque máximo (4), estabelecer uma curva de torque máximo principal (5) que representa o limite de torque máximo para todos os valores da fração de volume de gás; monitorar o torque da bomba e a pressão diferencial através da bomba; com base na pressão diferencial monitorada (dp') e usando a curva de torque máximo principal, estabelecer um torque máximo permissível (t') para a bomba; e realizar uma ação predeterminada se o torque monitorado exceder o torque máximo permissível estabelecido (t'), e.g., acionando um alarme e/ou parando o sistema.
