Abstract
este documento descreve trajetos bioquímicos para produzir ácido 6-hidroxi-hexanoico usando um polipeptídeo tendo atividade de ß-cetoilase para formar um 3-oxo-6-hidroxi-hexanoila-coa intermediário. o ácido 6-hidroxi-hexanoico pode ser convertido de forma enzimática para ácido adípico, caprolactama, ácido 6-aminohexanoico, hexametilenodiamina ou 1,6-hexanodiol. este documento também descreve hospedeiros recombinantes que produzem ácido 6-hidroxi-hexanoico assim como ácido adípico, caprolactama, ácido 6-aminohexanoico, hexametilenodiamina e 1,6-hexanodiol.
