Abstract
a presente invenção refere-se a uma fibra óptica multimodo (99) para transmissão contínua de radiação eletromagnética a alta potência, a dita fibra definindo um eixo geométrico de fibra e compreendendo um núcleo (110) e um revestimento (120) circundando o núcleo, e em que a fibra óptica multimodo é uma fibra de índice gradual multimodo, o perfil de índice refrativo na fibra seguindo essencialmente a fórmula (1), onde a fórmula (a), ? r é a distância do eixo geométrico da fibra, ? n(r) é o índice refrativo nominal como uma função de distância do eixo geométrico da fibra, ? n1 é o índice refrativo nominal no eixo geométrico da fibra, ? n2 é o índice refrativo do revestimento, ? a é o raio do núcleo, e ? g é um parâmetro que define a forma do perfil, ? onde o diâmetro de núcleo 2a está compreendido entre 90 µm e 190 µm, ? o parâmetro g está compreendido entre 1,2 e 1,8, e a abertura numérica (na) da fibra, onde a fórmula (b), está compreendida entre 0,2 e 0,3.
