2. Smoking article (1), according to claim 1, characterized in that it includes an adhesive patch on the inner surface (21) of the wrap (20).

3. Smoking article (1) according to claim 2, characterized in that the adhesive patch comprises hot melt adhesive forming a first adhesive patch (51) or the adhesive patch comprises poly(vinyl acetate) forming the second adhesive patch (52).

Smoking article (1) according to any one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that the adhesive patch is located in a seam area (23) of the inner surface (21) such that a seam ( 30) formed by an inner surface edge (21) overlapping the wrap (20) surrounding the plug (5) is adhesively bonded by the adhesive patch.

A filter (4,400) for the smoking article as defined in any one of claims 1 to 8, the filter comprising:- a plug (5) of filter material having a longitudinally extending surface (13); a wrap wrapped around the longitudinally extending surface (13) of the plug; and - a menthol patch (50) provided on an inner surface of the wrapper facing the longitudinally extending surface (13) of the plug, the menthol patch (50) securing the wrap to the plug, characterized in that the patch of menthol (50) comprises at least 99% of 2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol.

Method for manufacturing a filter (4, 400) for the smoking article (1) as defined in any one of claims 1 to 8, the method characterized in that it comprises: - providing a wrap; - applying a patch of menthol on a first surface of the wrap, the menthol patch (50) comprising at least 99% 2-isopropyl-5-methylcyclohexanol;- wrapping the wrap around a longitudinally extending outer surface of a plug of filter material , such that the first surface of the wrapper faces the longitudinally extending outer surface of the plug; - connect the plug to the wrapper by means of the menthol patch (50).

11. Method according to claim 10, characterized in that the step of applying the menthol patch comprises: - melting menthol crystals to obtain liquid menthol; - depositing the liquid menthol on said first surface of the wrapper.
