Die Erfindung betrifft eine Einrichtung zum Auftragen von Leim auf ein Hüllmaterial eines stabförmigen Artikels der tabakverarbeitenden Industrie. Derartige Einrichtungen finden insbesondere Anwendung beim Verbinden von Rauchartikeln mit Filterstopfen, wobei ein Belagpapierstreifen mit Leim versehen wird und vom beleimten Belagpapierstreifen Belagblättchen abgetrennt werden, die durch Einrollung auf die Filterstopfen und die Enden der Rauchartikel verklebt werden. Zwischen dem Gehäuse 30 und dem Düsenkopf 44 ist eine Dichtung 42 vorgesehen, um keinen Leim an Stellen nach außen dringen zu lassen, die nicht gewünscht sind. Claims (21)

  1. Device for applying glue to a covering material (10) of a rod-shaped article of the tobacco-processing industry, comprising at least one application nozzle (21), a means (26, 32) for interrupting the flow of glue to the application nozzle (21) and at least one supply conduit (22, 23) which is arranged between the means (26, 32) for interrupting the flow of glue and the application nozzle (21), the means (26, 32) for interrupting the flow of glue being a rotary valve (32), characterised in that the rotary valve (32) is a rotary roller (32) which comprises irregularities (37, 38) in its circumferential face (45), the roller (32) comprising a plurality of axially adjacent portions, respective adjacent portions (461 to 465) having different configurations of the irregularities (37, 38) of the circumferential face (45).
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that the irregularities (37, 38) are grooves, recesses, cam noses and/or elevations.
  3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the roller (32) is rotatably mounted in a chamber (31) of a housing (30).
  4. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that at least one portion (461 to 465) is configured as a seal.
  5. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that at least two different sorts of glue can be simultaneously fed to different portions (461 to 463).
  6. Device according to any one of claims 3 to 5, characterised in that the chamber (31) comprises at least one chamber groove (39) arranged substantially in a plane orthogonal to the axis of rotation.
  7. Device according to claim 6, characterised in that, except for a portion that is arranged in the region of the supply conduit, the chamber groove (39) is arranged all the way round.
  8. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the at least one application nozzle (21) is provided with a recess (25).
  9. Device according to claim 8, characterised in that the size and/or depth of the outlet slot (24) of the application nozzle (21) can be adjusted to predetermine a predeterminable quantity of glue to be applied.
  10. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the width of the at least one application nozzle (21) and/or the respective outlet slot (24) of the at least one application nozzle (21) can be adjusted or predetermined.
  11. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the application nozzle (21) is provided with a curved face (43) at the inlet side of the covering material (10).
  12. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the glue pressure can be adjusted for the supply of glue.
  13. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that means are provided by way of which the glue pressure of each application nozzle (21) can be adjusted.
  14. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterised in that at least two supply conduits (22, 23) are connected to each other and a conduit is provided for supplying the glue to the at least two supply conduits (22, 23).
  15. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 14, characterised in that the at least one application nozzle (21) is at least partially provided with a coating that reduces the wetting capacity of the glue.
  16. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 15, characterised in that a monitoring device is also provided which monitors the quality of the least one track of glue produced on the covering material (10).
  17. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 16, characterised in that a means for measuring the applied quantity of glue (glue quantity measuring equipment) is provided.
  18. Device according to claim 16 or 17, characterised in that closed-loop and/or open-loop control of the components of the device for applying glue is provided by means of the monitoring device and/or the glue quantity measuring equipment.
  19. Device according to any one of claims 2 to 18, characterised in that at least one irregularity (37, 38) is provided per supply conduit (23) on the circumferential face (45) of the roller (32).
  20. Device according to claim 19, characterised in that a plurality of irregularities (37, 38) per supply conduit (23) is provided on the circumferential face (45) of the roller (32).
  21. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 20, characterised in that a drive means of the rotary valve (32) is provided which drives the rotary valve (32) in accordance with the speed of the covering material (10) to be provided with glue.
