resumo “método para operar um sistema de troca iônica em contracorrente” um sistema melhorado de troca iônica em contracorrente e método para operar o mesmo, incluindo uma pluralidade de colunas alinhadas verticalmente de resina de troca iônica de leito adensado incluindo: uma coluna a montante compreendendo um leito adensado de resina de troca catiônica, e uma coluna a jusante compreendendo um leito adensado de resina de troca aniônica que está em comunicação fluida com a coluna a montante, sendo que ambas as colunas compreendem um orifício superior e um orifício superior para entrada e saída de fluido. o método objeto de operação inclui as etapas de: (i) introduzir um líquido de alimentação no orifício superior da coluna a montante tal que o líquido de alimentação flua descendentemente através da coluna e saia através do orifício inferior, e subsequentemente flua no orifício inferior da coluna a montante e ascendentemente saia pelo orifício superior, (ii) interromper a introdução de líquido de alimentação, (iii) introduzir um primeiro regenerado no orifício superior da coluna a jusante tal que o regenerado flua descendentemente através da coluna e saia através do orifício inferior e introduzir um segundo regenerado no orifício inferior da coluna a montante tal que o regenerado flua ascendentemente através da coluna e saia através do orifício superior, e (iv) repetir as etapas (i) a (iii).
