Dispositivo de limpeza (16) e método para remover um lubrificante dos rolos (4) de um cavalete de rolos (2). Para obter uma limpeza econômica e eficiente dos rolos (4), o dispositivo de limpeza (16) compreende pelo menos um gerador ultrassônico (18) para gerar ondas ultrassônicas, as ditas ondas ultrassônicas sendo roteadas para superfície dos rolos (4) por meio da água de limpeza. Cleaning device (16) and method for removing a lubricant from the rollers (4) of a roller stand (2). In order to obtain an economic and efficient cleaning of the rollers (4), the cleaning device (16) comprises at least one ultrasonic generator (18) for generating ultrasonic waves, said ultrasonic waves being routed to the surface of the rollers (4) through the cleaning water. The cleaning device also comprises a supply line (26) for the cleaning water, said supply line (26) being a branch of the cooling water circuit for the roller stand (2). Specifically, this allows water consumption for the roller stand to be kept constant during the cleaning phase; the water is merely redistributed whereby a portion of the cooling water is supplied to the cleaning device. This creates the advantage that the roller temperature rises slightly, with the result that cleaning performance is supported by the higher roller temperature at which lubricant is better released from the roller surface.
