mecanismo de acesso de canal para canais amplos usados em redes sobrepostas. a presente invenção refere-se a um dispositivo que tenta transmitir em um canal amplo (composto de um canal estreito principal e um ou mais canais estreitos secundários), ele poderá interromper seu contador de backoff, se um dos canais secundários for detectado como ocupado, e reiniciar o contador de backoff a partir de seu valor interrompido, quando todos os canais forem novamente detectados como inativos. alguma sconcretizações podem usar uma técnica de detecção de intervalo de guarda para ajudar na detecção de se os canais secundários estão ocupados.
