sistema de computador e método para operar o mesmo. a invenção pertence a um sistema de computador (2) e um método para operar o mesmo. o sistema de computador (2) compreendendo um dispositivo de armazenamento de rede (nsd) sendo conectado por uma conexão de rede serial (4) em vários dispositivos de rede (nd1...nd3). o dispositivo de armazenamento de rede (nds) compreendendo um dispositivo de armazenamento baseado em bloco (bbsd) p e um seletor de cache redimensionável (scs) tendo um cache de memória (10) que é subdividido em várias filas de cache (ql1...ql3), em que cada fila de cache (ql1...ql3) é dedicada a um dos dispositivos de rede (nd1...nd3). o método compreendendo as seguintes etapas: a) receber pacotes de dados de entrada (3) que é atribuido a um dos dispositivos de rede (nd1...nd3) no seletor de fila (qs), b) transferir e armazenar o dito pacote de dados de entrada (3) em uma fila de cache (ql1...ql3) sendo atribuído ao dispositivo de rede respectivo (nd1...nd3), c) enviar um pacote de dados de saída (5) da dita fila de cache (ql1...ql3) que compreende pelo menos uma parte de um conteúdo de dados compreendido pelos pacotes de dados de entrada (3) que são armazenados na dita fila de cache (ql1...ql3), em que a etapa de emitir o pacote de dados de saída (5) é realizada se uma quantidade de dados dos pacotes de dados de entrada recebidos (3) que são armazenados na dita fila de cache (ql1...ql3) excede um valor limite que define um tamnho predeterminado (bs, fs) do pacote de dados de saída (5).
