Description
Ainda a presente invenção apresenta o processo de preparo dessas composições e métodos de controle de pragas e plantas indesejadas compreendendo a aplicação das ditas composições.[0001] The present invention is located in the fields of Chemistry and Agrochemistry. More specifically, the present invention describes novel suspo-emulsion compositions. Still the present invention presents the process of preparing these compositions and methods of controlling pests and unwanted plants comprising the application of said compositions.
[0002] Suspo-emulsões são composições que combinam tecnologias de suspensão concentrada e emulsão aquosa concentrada e, de modo geral, apresentam pelo menos três fases, sendo formadas pela combinação de uma fase contínua, contendo um ou mais componentes ativos, com uma fase descontínua que também pode conter um ou mais componentes ativos, e uma fase sólida dispersa em pelo uma das fases citadas acima.[0002] Suspo-emulsions are compositions that combine technologies of concentrated suspension and concentrated aqueous emulsion and, in general, have at least three phases, being formed by the combination of a continuous phase, containing one or more active components, with a discontinuous phase. which may also contain one or more active components, and a solid phase dispersed in at least one of the phases mentioned above.
Essas dificuldades geralmente são contornadas por meio de uso de solventes orgânicos e/ou baixas concentrações de ativos.[0003] The use of suspo-emulsions allows the combination of actives of different physicochemical properties, unstable or chemically incompatible, creating significant difficulties for the formulator. These difficulties are usually overcome through the use of organic solvents and/or low concentrations of actives.
The use of organic solvents in suspo-emulsions generates residues that, without treatment, can affect the environment and human health. Therefore, they are unwanted and discourage large-scale production of suspo-emulsions by companies, such as agrochemical companies, especially when green chemistry practices and sustainable production policies are increasingly encouraged and valued.

[0016] Estes e outros objetos da invenção serão imediatamente valorizados pelos versados na arte e serão descritos detalhadamente a seguir.[0016] These and other objects of the invention will be immediately appreciated by those skilled in the art and will be described in detail below.
Esta vantagem é de grande interesse para o controle de plantas ou ervas daninhas.[0017] Faced with formulations such as solution concentrates, emulsions, suspensions, foams, powders and water-dispersible granules, suspo-emulsions have several advantages, mainly, suspo-emulsions allow the combination of actives with different physicochemical properties, such as actives with different solubilities in water. This advantage is of great interest for the control of plants or weeds.
The control of these weeds can be accomplished by the use of herbicidal compositions, however, the continuous use of herbicidal compositions can lead to the emergence of resistant plants, being a problem for the agriculture area.
Thus, compositions containing various herbicides, such as suspo-emulsions, are useful in weed control, as they allow the combination of actives with complementary modes of action. The combinations offer the benefit of broadening the spectrum of weed control and managing herbicide resistance that can develop in certain weeds through prolonged use.
Ainda, compostos pouco solúveis e/ou imiscíveis em água apresentam baixas concentrações nas suspo-emulsões aquosas conhecidas atualmente.[0020] Despite the advantage of combining different actives, suspo-emulsions are still not widely used as herbicide compositions. This is mainly due to the use of organic solvents to stabilize suspo-emulsions, and the low stability of water-in-oil suspo-emulsions without the presence of these organic solvents. Furthermore, poorly soluble and/or immiscible compounds in water have low concentrations in currently known aqueous suspo-emulsions.
The present invention solves this and other problems of the state of the art from stable suspo-emulsion compositions, stable even with the elimination of residues (organic solvents), and with high concentrations of actives, including immiscible actives in water and water-insoluble actives.

The first step consists of the preparation of a phase composed of water-in-oil emulsifiers and one or more water-immiscible active ingredients, this step being the main responsible for the absence of process residues, since it does not require the use of organic solvents. for mixing the active compound with the emulsifiers.
The second stage of the developed process is the formation of a water-in-oil emulsion, comprising the mixture of the solution of the first stage with water. In addition, the step consists of the use of a high shear mixing equipment, one of those responsible for reducing the diameters of the reverse micelles formed and, consequently, increasing the stability of the emulsion.
A suspo-emulsão é finalizada com a mistura da emulsão da segunda etapa com a suspensão aquosa.[0044] Finally, the third step consists of preparing a concentrated aqueous suspension with one or more insoluble solid active ingredients. The suspo-emulsion is finished by mixing the emulsion from the second stage with the aqueous suspension.

Além disso, os conhecimentos aqui revelados proporcionam alternativas de processos verdes, que permitem a eliminação do uso de solventes (resíduos), para a produção de suspo-emulsões de interesse agrícola.[0070] In short, the present invention presents an advance over the state of the art, since it reveals formulations in the form of suspo-emulsions and a process for producing suspo-emulsions, allowing stable suspo-emulsions to be produced even without solvents (residues) and with surprisingly small diameter reverse micelles. The smaller diameter of the reverse micelles provides greater stability to the system even in the presence of high amounts of immiscible and water-insoluble actives. The invention also provides higher concentrations of active ingredients in their compositions and/or combinations of chemically incompatible or difficult to mix active ingredients, since they are spatially separated in the formulation. Furthermore, the knowledge disclosed herein provides alternatives of green processes, which allow the elimination of the use of solvents (waste), for the production of suspo-emulsions of agricultural interest.

Then, to the same container, 4.73g of the emulsifier SOPROPHOR 796, an ethoxypropoxylated polyarylphenol and 2.84g of the emulsifier ATLOX 4912, a block copolymer of polyethylene glycol and 12-hydroxystearic acid, were added. As substituents for ATLOX 4912, ATLOX 4914 or ATLOX 4916 can be used.
[0075] Finally, 8.51g of ATLAS G5000 emulsifier, a polyalkylene oxide block copolymer, was added to the container. Examples of other emulsifiers that could be used instead of ATLAS G5000 and SOPROPHOR 796 comprise PO EO block copolymers such as: TOXIMUL 8320, PLURONIC PE 10500, ATLAS G5002L.
The formation of reverse micelles took place with the slow addition of the organic phase (10 to 15 mL per second), as formulated in the previous example, in water.
[0077] Various proportions of oil phase:water phase were tested, from 50:50 to 70:30. After the addition was completed, the mixtures were placed in a high shear mixer for 10min at 8000RPM. The average particle sizes were measured in triplicate and presented as the average of the values obtained. The proportions used in the experiment refer to the proportion of the oil phase (S-Metolachlor Base): aqueous phase (water). The mean particle size (TMP) indicates that at least 50% (D50), or at least 90% (D90), of the reverse micelles are smaller than indicated.
From Table 2, we see that in the use of compositions comprising above 30% of water, a substantial reduction in the particle size of the emulsion begins to be observed. Interestingly, from the proportion of 35%, which is just above 30%, the particle size gradually increased.
[0079] De forma geral, as micelas reversas foram obtidas com tamanho médio de partículas (D50) abaixo de 129,05 μm (Desvio Padrão [DP] = 1,51), 1,06 μm (DP= 0,08), 1,62 μm (DP=0,1) e 2,74 (DP= 0,01) μm e com 90% das partículas com tamanho médio (D90) abaixo de 221,66 μm (DP=7,86), 1,88 μm (DP=0,14), 2,86 μm (DP=0,14) e 4,71 μm (DP=0,08). O tamanho reduzido e a distribuição granulométrica homogênea das micelas reversas para as proporções de até 70% em fase oleosa resultou na obtenção de emulsões estáveis e eficazes.[0079] In general, the reverse micelles were obtained with mean particle size (D50) below 129.05 μm (Standard Deviation [SD] = 1.51), 1.06 μm (SD = 0.08), 1.62 μm (DP=0.1) and 2.74 (DP=0.01) μm and with 90% of the particles with average size (D90) below 221.66 μm (DP=7.86), 1 .88 μm (SD=0.14), 2.86 μm (SD=0.14) and 4.71 μm (SD=0.08). The reduced size and homogeneous granulometric distribution of the reverse micelles for proportions of up to 70% in the oil phase resulted in stable and effective emulsions.
When using proportions of 70:30 (oil phase: water phase) in the preparation of water-in-oil emulsions, the average size of the particles obtained was much higher and above 100 μm. These emulsions, with an average particle size greater than 100 μm, would not be suitable for formulations of stable suspo-emulsions with high amounts of water-immiscible actives, as described in the present patent application.
[0081] Em testes de adição rápida da fase oleosa, na proporção 65:35, detectou-se um aumento significativo no tamanho de partícula médio (D90 de 15 a 30 μm).[0081] In tests of rapid addition of the oil phase, in the proportion 65:35, a significant increase in the average particle size was detected (D90 from 15 to 30 μm).
[0082] An aqueous suspension was prepared from the addition of 8.88g of mono ethylene glycol and 4.44g of Polyfon H((2R)-3-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-2-[2-methoxy- 4-(3-sulfopropyl)phenoxy]propane-1-sulfonic acid) in 156.69g of water. In addition, 5.77g, 3.55g, 2.66g of SOPROPHOR 4D384, PLURONIC PE10500 and SOKALAN HP53 dispersants were added, respectively, followed by the addition of 1.69g of SILFOAM SRE antifoam. with the addition of 0.4g of the bactericide PROXEL GXL and 156.69g of the solid active ingredient Flumioxazin and 2.66g of the anti-caking agent CABOSIL M5.
[0083] Exemplos de outros dispersantes para a produção da suspensão compreendem ATLOX 4913, ATLOX 4894, SOPROPHOR FLK e SURFOM 1322.[0083] Examples of other dispersants for suspension production include ATLOX 4913, ATLOX 4894, SOPROPHOR FLK and SURFOM 1322.
[0084] Exemplos de outros anticongelantes para a produção da suspensão compreende glicerinas, propilenoglicol, propiletilenoglicol e dietilenoglicol.[0084] Examples of other antifreezes for making the suspension comprise glycerins, propylene glycol, propylethylene glycol and diethylene glycol.
[0085] Para a formação da suspo-emulsão, foram adicionados 131,04g da emulsão 65:35 obtida ao fim do exemplo II a um recipiente contendo 10,78g da suspensão aquosa contendo Flumioxazin.[0085] For the formation of the suspo-emulsion, 131.04g of the 65:35 emulsion obtained at the end of example II were added to a container containing 10.78g of the aqueous suspension containing Flumioxazin.
[0086] Em seguida foi adicionado 1,34g de água, como diluente, e 6,71g de gel espessante (KELZAM AP 2% + 1% BIT).[0086] Then 1.34g of water was added, as a diluent, and 6.71g of thickener gel (KELZAM AP 2% + 1% BIT).
[0087] Finally, 0.13g of SAG 1572 defoamer was added, which is a dimethyl polysiloxane emulsion.
Ademais, a fase descontínua aquosa compreende o herbicida sólido particulado Flumioxazin.[0088] From the described procedures, it was possible to obtain a herbicide suspo-emulsion with a continuous water-immiscible phase, comprising S METOLACLORO, the polymeric emulsifiers ATLOX 4912, ATLAS G5000 and SOPROPHOR 796P. Furthermore, the aqueous discontinuous phase comprises the solid particulate herbicide Flumioxazin.
[0089] From a suspo-emulsion of S-metolachlor and Flumioxazin (as described in example III, above), a new test, according to CIPAC method MT 36.3, was used to verify the average particle size, and this average size was monitored at different temperatures for different storage times. TMP and syneresis measurements were performed after the storage time (in days) indicated in the table.
As can be seen in Table 5, the suspo-emulsion remained stable and with reduced particle size even after storage at different temperatures (from 0 °C to 54 °C) and for up to 56 days.
[0091] The suspo-emulsions were still evaluated in relation to their stability with the CIPAC method MT 36.3. Basically, the suspo-emulsions were diluted in water with different hardness (20 ppm and 342 ppm), and the formation of “oil” and/or “free foam” was verified.
O tempo indicado na tabela é referente ao tempo aguardado após a diluição para realizar o teste.[0092] Composition A was stored at 25°C for 0 days prior to testing. Composition B was stored at 0 °C for 7 days before testing. Composition C was stored at 54 °C for 14 days before testing. Composition D was stored at 40 °C for 56 days before testing. The time indicated in the table refers to the time waited after dilution to perform the test.
