Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR UMA FIBRA óPTICA DE BAIXA ATENUAçãO". Um processo para produzir uma fibra óptica de baixa atenuação compreende produzir uma pré-forma de núcleo de fuligem (23) por meio de deposição química sobre um substrato; remover o substrato da pré-forma de núcleo de fuligem (23) formando com isto um furo central (25) ao longo da pré-forma de fuligem (23); secar e consolidar a pré-forma de núcleo de fuligem (23) em uma fornalha de consolidação (20) pré-formar uma pré-forma de núcleo de vidro (23), aquecer a pré-forma de vidro (23) na fornalha de consolidação (20) acima de uma temperatura de fusão de vidro para produzir uma redução do diâmetro do furo central (26); e esticar a pré-forma de núcleo de vidro (23) para fechar completamente o furo central.
