"SISTEMA E MéTODO PARA IDENTIFICAR E PROCESSAR DADOS SOBRE USO E NAVEGAçãO EM TELEVISãO POR SATéLITE, MéTODO DE RASTREAR CARACTERìSTICAS DE USO DE TELEVISãO POR SATéLITE". Sistema e método que rastreiam, compilam e armazenam informações sobre navegação pelo usuário em televisão por satélite, sem o usuário tomar ciência de que qualquer manipulação de dados está ocorrendo. A invenção permite aos anunciantes de produtos ou serviços em canais de televisão por satélite receberem informações sobre navegação pelo espectador de televisão, tais como hora do dia, a quantidade de tempo que um usuário gasta visualizando uma propaganda particular ou "cena" e a localização do espectador. A invenção, adaptável a uma tradicional rede de comunicação por satélite (10), inclui uma série de instruções legíveis em computador armazenadas em um IRD (35) do usuário do satélite, que podem ser baixadas para permitir rastreamento da navegação. A identidade da cena sendo visualizada, a hora do dia daquela visualização particular e a duração do tempo gasto visualizando a cena são registradas, temporariamente armazenadas em RAM e seu conteúdo enviado a memória não volátil em intervalos predeterminados.
