Abstract

"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA MELHORAR A PROTEçãO DE INFORMAçõES APRESENTADAS POR UM COMPUTADOR". A invenção refere-se a um melhoramento em um controlador gráfico para impedir que o conteúdo de porções selecionadas do buffer de quadro sejam lidas por dispositivos externos ao controlador gráfico. A invenção define um ou mais retângulos visíveis no buffer de quadro como uma área somente de escrita protegida. Qualquer tentativa para ler os dados da área protegida do buffer de quadro dispara uma violação de segurança a qual pode apagar ou destruir o conteúdo da área para impedi-lo de ser lido. O controlador pode também operar em um modo de desvio no qual as funções de segurança são desviadas de modo que o controlador gráfico opere em um modo convencional. Uma violação de segurança pode retornar o controlador para o modo de desvio. A invenção pode impedir que dados protegidos, tais como os dados com direitos autorais carregados pela lnternet, sejam copiados do buffer de quadro e utilizados em um modo não-autorizado.
