A presente invenção refere-se uma composição antioxidante que compreende 1 X10^ -7^ a 0,02% de um carotenóide, de 1x10^ -5^ a 1% de polifenóis, de 0,0002 a 6,5% de vitaminas e 0,001 a 3% de helioxine, todas as percentagens sendo expressas em peso com base no peso total da composição antioxidante. Em outro aspecto a invenção refere-se a uma composição cosmética ou farmacêutica compreendendo a composição antioxidante acima definida. As composiçõeS de acordo com a invenção apresentam um aperfeiçoado efeito na proteção da pele contra danos celulares e cutâneos ocasionados pelos radicais livres do oxigênio."ANTIOXIDANT COMPOSITION AND COSMETIC OR PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION". The compositions according to the invention have an improved effect on protecting the skin against cellular and skin damage caused by oxygen free radicals.
