Abstract
"COMPOSIçãO CATALISADORA DE OXALATO DE TITANILA INTENSIFICADA, PROCESSO APERFEIçOADO PARA PRODUZIR UM POLIéSTER, E, POLIéSTER APERFEIçOADO" A presente invenção é baseada na verificação de que os oxalatos de não titanila podem aumentar a funcionalidade catalítica dos catalisadores de oxalato de titanila. Esta invenção fornece uma nova composição catalítica contendo um catalisador de oxalato de titanila e um intensificador de catalisador de oxalato metálico e, opcionalmente, contendo um co-catalisador metálico, tal como um catalisador baseado em antimónio. Uma relação sinérgica foi verificada entre o catalisador de oxalato de titanila e o intensificador de catalisador. Uma relação sinérgica foi também verificada entre o catalisador de oxalato de titanila, intensificador de catalisador e um co-catalisador metálico, tal como óxido de antimónio ou triacetato de antimónio. This invention provides a new catalytic composition containing a titanyl oxalate catalyst and a metal oxalate catalyst enhancer and, optionally, containing a metal co-catalyst, such as an antimony based catalyst. A synergistic relationship was found between the titanyl oxalate catalyst and the catalyst intensifier. A synergistic relationship has also been found between the titanyl oxalate catalyst, catalyst enhancer and a metal co-catalyst, such as antimony oxide or antimony triacetate. Also provided is an improved process of producing polyester by polycondensation of polyester forming reagents, in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a polycondensation catalyst, where the improvement comprises the use, as a polycondensation catalyst, of the new catalyst composition containing a titanyl oxalate such as lithium titanyl oxalate and a catalyst enhancer, such as a non-titanyl metal oxalate, such as lithium oxalate and, optionally, containing a metal catalyst such as antimony oxide or antimony triacetate. The improved process produces an improved polyester having lower acetaldehyde numbers and good color. The titanyl oxalate / catalyst enhancer composition can be used as a polycondensation catalyst, in combination with other catalysts, to obtain synergistic catalytic activity. a combination of Li ~ 2 ~ TiO (C ~ 2 ~ O ~ 4 ~) ~ 2 ~, lithium oxalate, Li ~ 2 ~ (C ~ 2 ~ O ~ 4 ~) ~ 2 ~ with antimony oxide or antimony triacetate or antimony trisglycoxide.
