Abstract

As buchas de montagem em carroceria são preferivelmente formadas por um processo de extrusão convencional e cortadas em um comprimento mais curto desejado conforme desejado para fixação aos componentes estruturais adjacentes da porção de chassi.<B> EXTRUDED NODE FOR FIXING BODY-ASSEMBLED BUSHINGS TO VEHICLE CHASSIS TUBULAR COMPONENTS <D> A bushing assembly structure connects the adjacent structural components of a chassis portion of a vehicle body and chassis assembly together, and it also provides a mounting bracket to connect the body portion of the assembly to the chassis portion. The chassis portion of the body and vehicle chassis assembly may include a pair of side rails having a plurality of cross members extending therebetween. Each of the side rails can be formed from a plurality of side rail sections that are fastened together by body mounting bushings. The body mount bushing includes a hollow cylindrical bushing portion, having one or more V-shaped projections extending from it. Body mounting bushings are provided to connect adjacent structural components of the chassis portion together. To accomplish this, an end of a first structural component and an end of a second structural component can be formed having respective recesses, within which the projections of the body-mounting bushing extend. Preferably, such recesses are complementary in format to the projection format. The structural components can be fixed to the projections of the body mounting bush by any conventional means, such as by welding, riveting, fixing and the like. Body mounting bushings also provide a mounting bracket for connecting the body portion to the chassis portion. To accomplish this, the bushing portions of the body mounting bushings are dimensioned to receive and support the respective body assemblies provided in the body portion of the vehicle body and chassis assembly. Body mounting bushings are preferably formed by a conventional extrusion process and cut to a desired shorter length as desired for attachment to adjacent structural components of the chassis portion.
