Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR TRIóXIDO DE ENXOFRE, áCIDO SULFúRICO E OLEUM DE DIóXIDO DE ENXOFRE". A presente invenção é direcionada para um processo para fabricação de SO~ 3~ de um gás inicial compreendendo SO~ 2~. Em uma modalidade, o processo compreende pór em contato, o gás inicial com um solvente de absorção de SO~ 2~ líquido em uma zona de absorção SO2 para transferência seletiva de SO~ 2~ do gás inicial ao solvente de absorção de SO2 e formar um gás esgotado de SO~ 2~ e um solvente enriquecido de SO~ 2~. A conversion gas, comprising residual SO ~ 3 ~ and SO ~ 2 ~, is formed by passing the converter feed gas through a plurality of catalyst layers in series, the plurality comprising at least 2 and no more than than 4 layers of catalyst. A second part of the gas enriched with SO ~ 2 ~ is introduced into at least one layer of catalyst, which is downstream of the layer which is further upstream in plurality, to reinforce the concentration of SOP in the gas fed to the downstream layer. The present invention is also concerned with a process for producing sulfuric acid and / or oleum from a source gas, which comprises SO ~ 2 ~. A conversion gas, which comprises residual SO ~ 3 ~ and SO ~ 2 ~, is formed by passing the SO ~ 2 ~ enriched removal gas through a plurality of catalyst layers, in series. The conversion gas is combined with water vapor to form an acid product gas, which comprises: (a) sulfuric acid formed by a gas phase reaction between SO ~ 3 ~ of the conversion gas and water vapor, thereby thereby generating heat from the formation of sulfuric acid in the gas phase; (b) SO, 3; and (c) SOP. The thermal energy of the gaseous phase heat of sulfuric acid formation is recovered by transferring heat from the acid product gas to steam or feed water, in an indirect heat exchanger. The refrigerated acid product gas is then contacted with liquid sulfuric acid in an SO ~ 3 ~ absorption zone, to form additional sulfuric acid and / or oleum and an exhausted SO ~ 3 ~ gas, containing SO ~ 2 ~.
