"CATALISADOR CONSTITUIDO DE PALáDIO METáLICO E OURO METáLICO QUE SãO úTEIS PARA A PRODUçãO DE ACETATO DE VINILA PELA REAçãO DE ETILENO, OXIGêNIO E áCIDO ACéTICO". An effective catalyst for the production of vinyl acetate by the reaction of ethylene, oxygen and acetic acid, comprising a porous support on a porous surface on which catalytically effective amounts of metallic palladium and gold are deposited, and optionally, one or more catalytically active metals such as copper, prepared in stages consisting of impregnating the support with one or more aqueous solutions of water-soluble metal compounds, fixing the metals to the support as water-insoluble compounds in one or more fixation steps by reaction with an appropriate alkaline compound, with at least one of the fixation steps carried out in a solution of the alkaline compound in which the impregnated support is immersed, while ultrasound is applied in the solution, and of reducing the water-insoluble compounds of the catalytically active metals in their free metallic shapes.
