Abstract

"ARTIGO REFRATáRIO" é descrito um artigo refratário contendo carbono possuindo um revestimento protetor. O revestimento protetor reduz a oxidação do artigo durante as operações de pré-aquecimento e de lingotamento. Um auxiliar de umectação de lata temperatura compreendendo um óxido de metal, o metal sendo selecionado do grupo consistindo de arsênio, antimónio, busmuto, chumbo, vanádio e estanho, melhora a umectação do revestimento protetor sobre o artigo, e deste modo reduz as imperfeições no revestimento protetor fundido. O revestimento protege o artigo contra a oxidação e a descarbonetação, que podem resultar do uso do artigo em temperaturas elevadas em um atmosfera oxidante. O auxiliar de umectação é um óxido de metal, tal como óxido de bismuto, que reduz a tensão superficial do revestimento protetor em alta temperatura e promove o espalhamento do revestimento protetor sobre a superfície do artigo."REFRACTORY ARTICLE" is a refractory article containing carbon having a protective coating.
