Abstract

"MATERIAL E MéTODOS PARA AUMENTO DE TECIDO". AND METHODS FOR INCREASING TISSUE". The present invention relates to a permanent biocompatible material for enhancing smooth tissue. The biocompatible material comprises a matrix of finely divided, round, smooth, substantially spherical particles of a biocompatible ceramic material, close to or in contact with each other, which provide a support or trellis for the growth of soft, non-scar tissue, autogenous, three-dimensional and randomly oriented, at the augmentation site. The augmenting material can be homogeneously suspended in a resorbable, biocompatible lubricating gel vehicle comprising a polysaccharide. This serves to increase the distribution of the augmentation material by injection at the tissue site, where the augmentation is desired. The augmentation material is especially suitable for increasing urethral sphincter, for treating incontinence, for filling voids in smooth tissues, for creating smooth tissue vesicles, for treating unilateral vocal cord paralysis and for breast implants. This can be injected intradermally, subcutaneously or can be implanted.
