Abstract

"DERIVADOS DE FURANONA COMO INIBIDORES DE CATEPSINA S". A Catepsina S é uma protease de cisteína altamente ativa, pertencente à superfamília da papaína. Ela é encontrada principalmente nos linfonodos, baço e macrófagos, e esta ocorrência limitada sugere o envolvimento potencial desta enzima na patogênese de doenças degenerativas. A invenção refere-se a inibidores inovadores de proteases, particularmente inibidores das proteses de cisteína da superfamília da papaína, e mais particularmente, a Catepsina S. Os inibidores são derivados de furanona da Fórmula (II), que têm um substituinte R~ 5~ característico que não hidrogênio. Eles são seletivos sobre outros membros da família, e particularmente, apresentam seletividade sobre outros membros da família das Catepsinas, como a L e K.
