Abstract

"IMPROVEMENTS IN CARD READER", especially of a reader to be used externally to a public telephone, and which stands out for its utilitarian features substantially advanced in relation to other similar ones existing in the consumer market; composed of a reader (1) external to the telephone cabinet (G), formed by a substantially prismatic body, properly resined, said reader (1) having, on the right side, a rectangular sector (2) of greater thickness that extends to a step (3) that delimits a rectangular sector of less thickness (4), having in this step, in its highest part, a central notch similar to a "nail" (5); in the said rectangular sector (4) there is a substantially oblong recessed area (6), above which a rather protruding projection (7) is incorporated; on the right side of the reader it is arranged to the entrance opening (8) to insert the phone card, in whose central region there is a sequential concavity (9); in the lower part of the said step (3) there is an opening (10) aligned with the previous one and dimensionally compatible, which acts as an exit opening for broken or folded cards; the projection (7) acts as a lock in order to prevent the phone card from being inserted through the opening (10); in terms of the reader block set, the present reader brings important advances that allow obtaining better results in terms of reading mode and recording mode (credit burning).
