Abstract

The method and the device can be applied in high speed tobacco treatment and high pressure impregnation. They are also applicable in tobacco expansion occurring for less than 20 to 30 sec., by using preheated expansion agent under pressure, e.g. propane, and or in pressing the tobacco in the high pressure impregnation zone intended for more efficient use of the available space in the high pressure impregnation vessel.
