Abstract

The steel finds applications in the tool making industry, which are used for the processing of metallic and non-metallic materials. It features improved technological plasticity under hot deformation, high hardness and wear-resistance following both low-temperature and high-temperature tempering. The steel contains in weight %: carbon 1.00 - 1.50; chromium 9.00 - 14.00, silicon 0.15 - 0.35, manganese 0.15 - 0.40; molybdenum 0.20 - 1.00; vanadium 0.10 - 0.60; nitrogen 0.03 - 0.60; sulphur up to 0.030; phosphorus up to 0.030 and the remainder is iron.
