Abstract

Flotation is a method of separating water-dispersed impurities as a layer of foam resulting from the floating of air bubbles with particles adhering to them. Dissolved air flotation is a process, that is alternative to coagulation precipitation in which flocculated suspended particles sink to the bottom. Flotation is mainly used for the treatment of heavily polluted wastewater. For the purification of water for drinking and household purposes, flotation is used to a limited extent, because the large amounts of water require significant energy consumption and large complex equipment. The disadvantages of the known methods are solved by creating a method for flotation with the release of air from water in a “stilling basin” type energy dissipator, as at the beginning of the flow coagulant is applied, and at the end of the stilling basin foam is released. In addition to the energy dissipator, there is only a device for separating the foam containing the flocculated particles.

Description

Flotation in an energy extinguisher type water well

Field of technology

Flotation is a method of separating dispersed impurities from water in the form of a layer of foam resulting from the ability of particles to adhere to air bubbles and move with them. Dissolved air flotation is an alternative coagulation purification process in which flocculated and suspended particles are attached to air bubbles and float to the surface of the water, as opposed to the sedimentation of the particles to the bottom. It is most often used for the treatment of heavily polluted wastewater.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

For drinking water treatment, flotation has been used to a limited extent - in the UK since the 1960s and after 2000 in the USA [1]. There they used flotators with a capacity of up to ~ 8 m 3 / s. Realizing these quantities requires significant energy consumption and large complex equipment.

Different flotation methods are known according to the method of air saturation:

• Известен е метод за флотация с освобождаване на въздух от вода, наситена с въздух под налягане;• A method for flotation with the release of air from water saturated with compressed air is known;

• Известен е метод за флотация с освобождаване на въздух от вода, наситена с механично вкарване на въздух без налягане - перка и пневматични апарати;• A method for flotation is known with the release of air from water saturated with mechanical introduction of air without pressure - propeller and pneumatic devices;

• Известен е метод за флотация с освобождаване на въздух от вода, наситена с подаване на въздух през порести материали.• A method for flotation with the release of air from water saturated with air supply through porous materials is known.

A disadvantage of the known methods is the need to bring energy to saturate the water with air and use special equipment.

Technical essence of the invention

The disadvantages of the known methods are solved by creating a method for flotation which uses the release of air from water in an energy extinguisher type "water well", at the beginning of the flow coagulant is applied and at the end of the well foam is released.

An advantage of the method according to the invention is that the saturation of the water with air is performed using the kinetic energy of the water flow in an available energy extinguisher without introducing energy. In addition to the energy extinguisher is only a device for separating the foam containing the flocculated particles.

Explanation of the attached figure

Figure 1 shows a schematic diagram of the “water well” facility, which is used to extinguish a large amount of energy, for example to a dam overflow or at the entrance of a treatment plant.

An embodiment of the invention

Coagulant CFS10A1 (EINECS 254-400-7) is fed to a drinking water treatment plant with a water well type extinguisher and a water flow rate of 3.5 m 3 / s. The coagulant is fed at the beginning of the flow with a dose of 0.1 g Al / m 3 and the foam is scraped off.

Application of the invention

For purification of water for drinking and household purposes in treatment plants with energy extinguisher.
