Abstract
The paints are designed for painting of buildings, building structures, tunnels, swimming pools and other projects. The coating produced is long lasting, water impermeable, light resistant and possesses photocatalytic effect, purifying the atmospheric air from its basic pollutants: nitrogen and sulphur oxides, dioxides and others. Sodium silicate is used as film-forming substance in the form of water glass, and different modifications of TiO2 are used as basic pigment under the effect of ultra violet radiation (natural or artificial), and part of the spectrum of the visible light is activated and exhibits photocatalytic effect. The type and the quantity of the different fillers and additives have been selected depending on what the paint is meant for. The paints are easily applied and are fully harmless, showing bactericidal and fungicidal effect. They are self-purifying by means of the so-called noble whiting, but, if necessary, they can be washed with water. Water is used when they are used as a solvent and a cleaning means.
