Abstract

The method is used for the extraction of gold and silver from sulphide concentrates such as pyrites, arsenopyrites and copper concentrates, as well as from secondary precious metals-containing metals. It reduces the time of precious metals extraction from the solution at higher rate of extraction of the valuable components. The method comprises treatment in an ammonium thiosulphate in the presence of cupric ions, free ammonia and oxygen until precious metals-containing thiosulphate solution is produced. The precious metals-containing material is simultaneously subjected to electrochemical treatment with 1 to 5 electrode modules, submerged in the thiosulphate solution, each of which comprises from 4 to 10 anodes, and the cathodes are by one less, respectively. The current density is from 4to 16 mA/cm?. The surface ratio between anode and cathode is from 3:1 to 8:1. The electrodes are made of copper, nickel, titanium, silver or a combination thereof.
