Abstract

The method and the device are used in the power industry. They reduce the bending (W) of a part (1) subjected to loading force, in particular a longitudinal rib in a condensation tower of a nucluear power plant. Bending (W) is lateral to the longitudinal axis (7) of the part (1). An extension part (21) is gripped at the place of application (26) on the front surface (23) of part (1) as a result of which the distance between the place of application (26) and a supporting structure (24) is permanently maintained.
