In accordance with the invention a one-year old plant material, such as straw, is treated for improving the facility for binding it by means of binding resins in order to form composites by being placed in liquid medium containing sufficient quantity of sufficiently strong acid or surfactant in order to remove the layers of wax or silicon dioxide. 8 claims
