Abstract

The composition and the method of sizing are used in sizing in a mass, in acid medium of papers, the composition of which includes up to 100% mixed paper wastes. The sizing composition includes from 4 to 10 kg of colophony size as absolute dry substance per ton absolutely dry fibrous mass, from 6 to 30 kg aluminium sulphate as solid crystallohydrate with the formula Al2(SO4)3.18H2O per ton absolutely dry fibrous mass, from 40 to 180 kg sulphuric acid, as 100% acid per ton absolutely dry fibrous mass, and from 20 to 50 kg calcium hydroxide as absolute dry per ton absolutely dry fibrous mass. The sizing method takes place when firstly in the fibrous suspension the colophony sizing is batched, then the aluminium sulphate and the sulphuric acid in a point ensuring transport delay of the fibrous suspension for no less than 90 min from its entering the intake part of the mixing pump. There follows pH adjustment of the fibrous suspension in the 4.5-5.0 interval at the outlet pump by batching of calcium hydroxide in its intake part. 2 claims
