Abstract

The equipment for the pyrolysis of entire used motor-car tyres enables the production of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons,carbon and steel wire. It has simplified design, ensures airtightness by a hydraulic lock of the cover and ensures drying and preheating of the tyres by the recuperation of the exhaust gases, as a result of which its heat efficiency is improved. The heating system has cylindrical structure of refractory materials with ceramic short-flame diffusion-turbulent torches built in the foundation of the combustion chamber. A tubular recuperator is fitted in the combustion chamber for heating part of the noncondensed gases which are fed in the reaction space for direct heating of the material. The condensation-separation system includes a centrifugal cyclone, two scrubbers, water cooler and centrifugal fan with a throttling system for the separation of light liquid fractions. 6 claims, 3 figures
