Abstract
The press is used for the manufacture of briquettes from powder materials. From a screw feeder the powder material is forced into the operational zone of the press (8) which is made of two drums (9 & 10) having parallel axes resting on their generant surfaces and revolving in opposite directions. One of the drums is fixed mounted and the other is mobile mounted to frame (12). Two lateral beams (14 & 15) are mounted in that part of frame (12) where the mobile drum (10) is fitted, to and between its longitudinal beams (13), one of them in a mobile fashion, and the other being fixed. Mechanical safety devices (16) for press (8) are fitted between beams (14 & 15). The operating surface of the two drums (9 & 10) is knurled and the genetrix has the form of a corrugated line so that by its projecting part one of the drums enters the cavity of the other drum, or a"seat" of one of the drums meets a groove of the other drum. When the grooves and the "seats" of the drums are machined the following ratios are observed between the length L 6m), height H (m) and width B (m) of the "seats": H/L = 0.35-0.65; B/L = 0.75-0.95. 6 claims, 7 figures
