Perfectionnements au mobilier
L'invention est relative à des perfectionnements au mobilier et elle concerne en particulier une unité de bureau escamotable, qui peut être utilisée comme bureau domestique, banc de travail, bar ou analogue.
Suivant l'invention, une unité de bureau escamotable comprend deux moitiés articulées entre elles autour d'un axe vertical et qui, dans la position pliée fermée, forment une structure en caisson fermée de forme cubique ou rectangulaire, et qui s'ouvrent pour former un pupitre et un compartiment de dépôt situés au voisinage l'un de l'autre. De préférence, la moitié de pupitre comprend un panneau frontal, un panneau latéral relié perpendiculairement à celui-ci et un panneau supérieur, et la moitié de dépôt comprend un panneau arrière, un panneau latéral relié perpendiculairement à celui-ci et un panneau inférieur, et la moitié de pupitre est articulée autour d'un axe vertical sur la moitié de dépôt.
De manière appropriée, chaque panneau a une dimension telle que quand les deux moitiés sont repliées ensemble, une moitié se loge au moins partiellement dans l'autre moitié pour former . un caisson cubique ou rectangulaire fermé, chaque panneau formant un côté du caisson.
Une forme de réalisation d'une unité de bureau escamotable ou repliable suivant l'invention est illustrée dans les dessins annexés, dans lesquels:
La figure 1 est une vue en élévation frontale de l'unité dans la position fermée repliée. La figure 2 est une vue en élévation latérale de l'unité de la figure 1. La figure 3 est une vue en plan de l'unité de la figure 1. La figure 4 illustre, à une plus grande échelle, l'unité partiellement ouverte. La figure 5 est une vue en plan de l'unité complètement ouverte. La figure 6 est une vue en élévation frontale de l'unité complètement ouverte. La figure 7 est une vue en plan, à plus grande échelle, illustrant un détail de l'agencement de charnière entre les deux moitiés de l'unité de bureau.
En se référant aux dessins, une unité de bureau escamotable ou repliable comprend un panneau frontal 1 qui est relié au panneau latéral 2, perpendiculairement à celui-ci. Un panneau supérieur 3 est fixé aux bords supérieurs des panneaux adjacents 1 et 2, pour former une moitié de pupitre de l'unité.
Un panneau arrière 4 est relié perpendiculairement à un panneau latéral 5 adjacent. Un panneau inférieur 6 est fixé aux panneaux adjacents 4 et 5, pour former une moitié de dépôt ou d'emmagasinage de l'unité.
Les deux moitiés se replient autour d'une articulation verticale 7 qui est représentée plus en détail à la figure
7. L'articulation 7 peut se présenter sous la forme d'une charnière à piano verticale, dont une lame est fixée au bord vertical libre du panneau 2 et dont l'autre lame est fixée à une partie du panneau arrière 4. L'articulation est dissimulée par un coin 8 du panneau supérieur 3.
De manière appropriée, les panneaux 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 et 6 ont des dimensions pratiquement égales, de telle sorte que quand les deux moitiés de l'unité sont repliées ensemble, elles forment une structure cubique fermée.
L'unité de bureau est représentée en une position fermée aux figures 1 à 3. Lorsque l'on désire ouvrir l'unité pour former un bureau, la moitié de pupitre comprenant les panneaux 1, 3 et 4 pivote autour de l'articulation 7, sur approximativement 90[deg.], jusqu'à ce que le panneau latéral 2 soit aligné avec le panneau arrière 4. L'unité de bureau est représentée partiellement ouverte à la figure 4 et complètement ouverte aux figures 5 et 6.
Dans la position totalement ouverte, les panneaux 1 à 3 forment une unité de pupitre ou de bureau qui est ouverte à l'avant. Le dessus 3 forme la surface de travail du pupitre.
Le compartiment de dépôt ou d'emmagasinage est constitué par le panneau arrière 4, le panneau latéral 5 et le panneau inférieur 6. Le panneau latéral 9 est relié aux panneaux 4 et 6. Une latte transversale 10 est reliée par une extrémité au panneau latéral 9 et par l'autre extrémité au panneau latéral 5 et elle contribue à donner de la rigidité au compartiment de dépôt. Comme on l'observera plus en détail à la figure 7, une lame de la charnière 7 peut être vissée au panneau intermédiaire 9, à l'endroit où il rejoint le panneau arrière 4.
Le pivotement de la moitié de pupitre par rapport à la moitié de dépôt lors de l'ouverture ou fermeture de l'unité, est facilité par des roulettes 12 qui sont adaptées sur le bord inférieur du panneau 1 de la moitié de pupitre, et des roulettes
13 qui sont adaptées sur la surface inférieure du panneau inférieur 6. Une voie en arc 14 est située dans un évidement pratiqué dans la surface inférieure du panneau supérieur 3 (voir la figure 5). Un ergot 15 qui est situé sur le bord supérieur du panneau intermédiaire 9, glisse dans la voie 14 pour guider le panneau supérieur par-dessus le compartiment de dépôt lors de l'ouverture ou fermeture de l'unité. La voie 14 et l'ergot
15 peuvent être faits de nylon, de matière plastique ou d'une autre matière appropriée.
Comme représenté à la figure 4, le compartiment de dépôt peut être doté de tablettes 16 agencées entre les panneaux latéraux 9 et 5. Diverses variantes de positions pour les tablettes 16 sont représentées en lignes interrompues à la figure 2. Les tablettes peuvent être supportées sur des goujons de tablette encastrés fixés aux panneaux latéraux 9 et 5. Dans la forme de réalisation particulière illustrée aux dessins, le sommet du compartiment de dépôt est laissé ouvert et est réalisé avec une multiplicité de barres de classement 18 qui peuvent supporter des poches de classement 19 (voir les figures 2 et 6).
Comme représenté particulièrement clairement à la figure 6, une traverse 20 peut être fixée entre la latte 10 et le panneau arrière 4, pour supporter un plateau en matière plastique
21 façonné sous vide, qui peut servir de réceptacle pour des porte-plume, crayons et analogues.
De manière appropriée, le panneau frontal 1 est doté d'une poignée 22 pour faciliter l'ouverture et fermeture de l'unité. Comme représenté à la figure 4, le panneau latéral 5 peut aussi être doté d'une poignée. Une serrure 23 est située dans le panneau frontal 1.
L'unité peut être faite de bois, matière plastique, métal ou autre matière appropriée. Dans la forme de réalisation représentée, les panneaux sont faits de contre-plaqué de peuplier de 15 mm, doublé d'une pellicule de matière plastique.
Dans un exemple, l'unité de bureau en position fermée a une largeur de 600 mm, une profondeur de 619,5 mm et une hauteur (sans les roulettes) de 661 mm.
La forme de réalisation illustrée aux dessins convient particulièrement pour une utilisation comme bureau domestique. Des dossiers, des documents et d'autres matériels peuvent être déposés dans le compartiment de dépôt et sont dissimulés à la vue quand l'unité est fermée. L'unité peut aussi être uti-lisée comme poste de travail, par exemple pour être utilisée pour la couture. La position d'entreposage pour une machine à coudre 24 est représentée en lignes brisées à la figure 2. L'unité peut aussi être utilisée comme bar à boissons, cas dans lequel les tablettes 16 et le plateau 21 dans la partie d'entreposage peuvent être remplacés par des godets à glace, des portebouteilles et analogues, façonnés sous vide.
Comme représenté en lignes brisées à la figure 6, le compartiment de dépôt peut être muni d'un couvercle sur charnière 24.

Improvements to furniture
The invention relates to improvements in furniture and it relates in particular to a retractable office unit, which can be used as a home office, work bench, bar or the like.
According to the invention, a retractable office unit comprises two halves hinged together around a vertical axis and which, in the closed folded position, form a closed box structure of cubic or rectangular shape, and which open to form a desk and a deposit compartment located in the vicinity of each other. Preferably, the half of the console comprises a front panel, a side panel connected perpendicularly thereto and an upper panel, and the deposition half comprises a rear panel, a side panel connected perpendicularly thereto and a lower panel, and half of the console is articulated around a vertical axis on the deposit half.
Suitably, each panel has a dimension such that when the two halves are folded together, one half at least partially fits in the other half to form. a closed cubic or rectangular box, each panel forming one side of the box.
An embodiment of a retractable or folding office unit according to the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Referring to the drawings, a retractable or collapsible office unit comprises a front panel 1 which is connected to the side panel 2, perpendicular thereto. An upper panel 3 is fixed to the upper edges of the adjacent panels 1 and 2, to form a half of the console of the unit.
A rear panel 4 is connected perpendicularly to an adjacent side panel 5. A lower panel 6 is fixed to the adjacent panels 4 and 5, to form a deposit or storage half of the unit.
The two halves fold around a vertical joint 7 which is shown in more detail in the figure
7. The articulation 7 can be in the form of a vertical piano hinge, one blade of which is fixed to the free vertical edge of the panel 2 and the other blade of which is fixed to part of the rear panel 4. The articulation is concealed by a corner 8 of the upper panel 3.
Suitably, the panels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have almost equal dimensions, so that when the two halves of the unit are folded together, they form a closed cubic structure.
The office unit is shown in a closed position in FIGS. 1 to 3. When it is desired to open the unit to form an office, the half of the desk comprising the panels 1, 3 and 4 pivots around the joint 7 , on approximately 90 [deg.], until the side panel 2 is aligned with the rear panel 4. The desktop unit is shown partially open in Figure 4 and fully open in Figures 5 and 6.
In the fully open position, panels 1 to 3 form a desk or desk unit that is open at the front. The top 3 forms the work surface of the desk.
The deposit or storage compartment is constituted by the rear panel 4, the side panel 5 and the bottom panel 6. The side panel 9 is connected to the panels 4 and 6. A transverse slat 10 is connected by one end to the side panel 9 and by the other end to the side panel 5 and it contributes to giving rigidity to the deposit compartment. As will be seen in more detail in FIG. 7, a blade of the hinge 7 can be screwed to the intermediate panel 9, at the point where it joins the rear panel 4.
The pivoting of the console half relative to the deposit half when the unit is opened or closed, is facilitated by rollers 12 which are fitted on the lower edge of the panel 1 of the console half, and casters
13 which are fitted on the lower surface of the lower panel 6. An arcuate path 14 is located in a recess made in the lower surface of the upper panel 3 (see FIG. 5). A lug 15 which is located on the upper edge of the intermediate panel 9, slides in the track 14 to guide the upper panel over the deposit compartment during the opening or closing of the unit. Track 14 and the ergot
15 can be made of nylon, plastic or other suitable material.
As shown in FIG. 4, the deposit compartment can be provided with shelves 16 arranged between the side panels 9 and 5. Various variants of positions for the shelves 16 are shown in broken lines in FIG. 2. The shelves can be supported on recessed shelf studs fixed to the side panels 9 and 5. In the particular embodiment illustrated in the drawings, the top of the deposit compartment is left open and is produced with a multiplicity of filing bars 18 which can support filing pockets 19 (see Figures 2 and 6).
As shown particularly clearly in Figure 6, a cross member 20 can be fixed between the slat 10 and the rear panel 4, to support a plastic tray
21 vacuum formed, which can serve as a receptacle for pen holders, pencils and the like.
Suitably, the front panel 1 is provided with a handle 22 to facilitate the opening and closing of the unit. As shown in Figure 4, the side panel 5 can also be provided with a handle. A lock 23 is located in the front panel 1.
The unit can be made of wood, plastic, metal or other suitable material. In the embodiment shown, the panels are made of 15 mm poplar plywood, lined with plastic film.
In one example, the desktop unit in the closed position has a width of 600 mm, a depth of 619.5 mm and a height (without the casters) of 661 mm.
The embodiment illustrated in the drawings is particularly suitable for use as a home office. Files, documents and other materials can be stored in the storage compartment and are hidden from view when the unit is closed. The unit can also be used as a workstation, for example to be used for sewing. The storage position for a sewing machine 24 is shown in broken lines in Figure 2. The unit can also be used as a beverage bar, in which case the shelves 16 and the tray 21 in the storage part can be replaced by ice buckets, bottle holders and the like, vacuum-formed.
As shown in broken lines in FIG. 6, the deposit compartment can be provided with a hinged cover 24.
