L'invention sera mieux comprise à L'aide
(figure 5).

Improvement of devices intended for the determination of a blood group.
The present invention relates to a device intended for determining a blood group, of the type in which an attempt is made to avoid any contact between the blood examined and the manipulator.
It is known to use for this purpose a device comprising two sheets of semi-rigid plastic. The top sheet is transparent
and is intimately welded to the lower sheet, which is shaped so as to constitute a series of cells containing the test serum. The test is carried out by injecting the donor and recipient blood samples into the respective cells.
This known method has the drawbacks of not eliminating the blood sample from the control tube of the blood bag and of requiring manipulation, for example by crushing, of the cell to ensure mixing of the reagent and the blood. In addition, piercing the top sheet with a needle to inject the witness of the blood results in leaving an opening open and therefore blood
can come out and contaminate the outside environment. In addition, a risk of error exists in the choice of the cell.
On the other hand, French patent application
85 13140 describes a device, which has two parts articulated to each other and capable of being closed one over the other by their articulation by pinching in two spaced apart areas Longitudinally a flexible tube containing blood, oriented parallel to said articulation, and by perforating the wall of the portion of the tube comprised between the pinched areas by means of a needle belonging to a first of said articulated parts, said needle being connected to the chamber by a channel to form said means of introduction of blood.
Such a device has the disadvantage that part of the tubing of the pocket contains blood
is insulated and compressed and, as simultaneously the hollow perforator pierces the wall of the tubing, this
has the effect of propelling the compressed blood into the measuring cell. The amount of blood depending on the volume contained in the tubing can vary between two tests and influence the interpretation of the result. Due to the overpressure created in the tube and the lack of seal between the outer surface of the needle and the orifice created in the wall of the tube, blood can escape into the chamber and ooze outside the device. Therefore, any contact of blood with the manipulator is not excluded.
In addition, in order to allow the filling of the chamber, it is planned to let escape the air which it contains by a duct obstructed by a hydrophobic membrane, the properties of which can be modified by contact with the reagent. Liquid or other Liquid state, which results in making the hydrophobic membrane airtight. This could influence the amount of blood entering the room and, therefore, influence the interpretation of the result.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by producing a device in which iL excludes the possibility of blood seeping out of the device, which provides increased security for personnel.
Another object of the invention is to make
The lockable device, so that it cannot be opened after use.
Yet another object of the invention is to make the quantity of blood for each test identical, an amount perfectly suited to the volume of serum.
Another object of the invention is to produce a homogeneous serum-blood mixture and in a thin and regular layer without requiring manipulation.
The invention also aims to provide a device which remains attached to the control tube of the blood bag, thereby eliminating any confusion.
A device for determining a blood group produced in accordance with the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one chamber closed with the aid of a stopper and containing the serumtest and in which there is a depression, means to introduce the blood into the chamber using a hollow, mobile needle, bevelled at both ends, one piercing first the wall of the tube of the blood bag and the other engaging in the wall of the cap
from the room.
The invention is further characterized in that the device comprises a set of chambers separated from each other and each closed by a plug.
According to an embodiment of the invention The device comprises four chambers, including a pair for the blood of the donor and a pair for the blood of the recipient.
According to the invention The device consists of two sliding parts, one relative to the other, the upper part having a groove, intended to receive the tube of the stored blood bag and the control tube intended to contain the blood. of the receiver, and of the channels intended to guide the movable needles, the lower part containing chambers closed with the aid of plugs and also having channels for guiding the guides.
The invention will be better understood using
attached drawings, by way of example only, showing in:
Figure 1 a perspective view of a device according to the invention showing The two sliding parts Slightly fitted; Figure 2 a plan view of the device of Figure 1, The two sliding parts being separated; Figure 3 a cross section corresponding to Figure 2, and Figures 4 to 7 in sectional views The four phases of movement of the movable needle.
The device shown comprises two parts 1,2 sliding one relative to the other. The upper part 1 has a groove 3 intended to receive, on the one hand, the tube 4 of the blood bag
(not shown) and, on the other hand, the control tube 5 intended to receive the recipient's blood sample.
The control tube 5 includes means 6 for the introduction of the recipient's blood sample.
and means 7 for evacuating the air therefrom. The upper part also comprises channels 8 intended to guide the movable needles 9.
The lower part 2 comprises a set of chambers 10 each closed with the aid of a plug
11 and each provided with a channel 12, in which slides the corresponding mobile blood introduction needle 9.
The hollow mobile needles 9, positioned at a time of manufacture in the channels 12 and 8 of the lower 2 and upper 1 parts, have at each of their ends an oriented bevel 9 ′, respectively 9 ″.
Next The embodiment shown The device comprises a set of chambers separated from each other and, preferably, pairs of chambers,
so as to simultaneously test the stored blood and
The recipient's blood. The device will advantageously include four chambers, including a pair for the donor's blood and a pair for the recipient's blood.
The axes of the groove 3 of the upper part 1 and of the guide channels 8, 12 of the needles 9 intersect at an angle, which can vary from 30 [deg.] To
60 [deg.]. This inclination of the guide channels of the needles must allow them to first penetrate the control tubes 4, 5 at a favorable angle reducing the force of penetration and further promoting sealing at the place of penetration.
The operation of the device forming the object of the present invention is carried out as follows:
- We first make sure that the chambers 10 are still under vacuum by examining the plug
11 which must show a slight circular sag in its center 11 ′, the depression in the chambers being obtained by any known means and, for example, by placing the device in a vacuum enclosure at a given time of manufacture.
- The recipient's blood sample is injected into the control tube 5 provided for this purpose.
- The control tube 4 of the blood bag is introduced into the groove 3 provided for this purpose and the upper part 1 is pushed in until a first stop 13 where it is locked by its notch 14.
- By a light pressure, the upper part 1 is slid into the lower part 2 until it stops.
The two parts being guided relative to each other by means of slides 15,15 '
(figure 5).
- The movable needles 9 have the particularity to perforate in the first place the control tubes 4.5 containing the blood to be tested and to pass through them until the point of the bevel 9 'comes up against the bottom of the groove 3. The angle of the bevel <EMI ID = 1.1>
guiLLe 9 will catch in a toothing 16 provided for this purpose in the upper part 1 without there being communication between the blood contained in the tube and the outside of the device (Figure 6).
- Secondly, under the effect of the relative displacement of the two parts 1 and 2 between them, the needle 9 passes through the thickness of the wall of the plug 11 until it opens into the cavity 17 fitted there and where the depression prevails. . Under the effect of this depression, a calibrated volume of blood will be drawn into the chamber 10 to mix there intimately with the serum previously deposited therein (FIG. 7).
- The inspection of the sample is done by visual examination through the upper wall of the chamber, the device being made of a transparent material.
During manufacture The test serum is introduced into the chamber (s) 10, preferably in the liquid state. The test serum being introduced into the chamber, it is then placed under vacuum and closed by the plug 11.
The configuration of a chamber is such that the serum-blood mixture is done in a homogeneous manner and in a thin and regular layer, as allowed by the cut in the chamber in Figure 3. This facilitates agglutination and makes the visual comparison between The more comfortable rooms.
The depression prevailing inside the chamber is adjusted so as to draw up a constant volume of blood and precisely adapted to the volume of serum deposited in the chamber, in order to obtain an ideal mixture for aggregation and interpretation. .
Thanks to the notches 14 and the stops 13 The device is provided with a locking system for the two parts, so that they cannot be removed after use. The two parts 1, 2 being locked The device remains attached to the indicator tube 4 of the blood bag, thereby eliminating any confusion.
At no given time during the different phases The control tubes 4, 5 are not subjected to pressure and therefore only blood oozes out of the device.
