Abstract

The case is rectangular and slightly wider and taller than the cheques. Unused cheques are inserted by slotting them into the bottom of the case and rotating a one-way friction roller. Once inserted, they can only be released one-by-one, through an upper slot, after a code number has been keyed in on a face-mounted keyboard and a spring-loaded press bar on top of the case has been operated. - Spring-loaded inked pins and a rotating blade will destroy the cheques in any of the following circumstances; if two incorrect numbers are keyed in successively; if the case is tampered with or heated to more than 80 deg.C; or if the voltage of the internal battery becomes too low. The unit may also be used to hold credit cards or cheque guarantee cards.
